Reduced Randomness
The game’s lack of randomness ensures outcomes are decided by players’ decisions, not the roll of a die. Vox Dei rewards scheming, logic and strategy, and success must always be earned by forethought and guile.
There is only one aspect of the game that is outside the players’ full control: the capricious Ancient Gods. Offering your Cultists as a sacrifice will inevitably attract their attention, granting you a powerful Blessing.
The nature of said Blessing, however, is up to the God's inscrutable whims. This small element of uncertainty ensures Vox Dei players must always plan for the unexpected, and be capable of adapting.
Cruel Competition
Vox Dei is designed to not only let you play as a shadowy overlord scheming in the dark, but to feel like one.
Being a Cult Leader is no easy task: engulfed in an atmosphere of cautious distrust and flimsy alliances, your craftiness and cruelty will both be put to the test. Every single move counts, and the simultaneous turn system minimizes downtime and ensures players have to be constantly guessing what their opponents are thinking.
To achieve victory, you will need to carefully plan ahead, get into your opponent’s heads, and cover your malignant intentions with diplomacy and deceitfulness.
Multifaceted Mastery
With multiple paths to victory and customizable playstyles, your machinations can take an endless array of different shapes.
Would you rather achieve success by bribing influential figures within the city, or by pitting your enemies against each other?
Will you crush your rivals with brute force, or let the police do your dirty work?
Are your followers a warlike throng of fanatics, a devious gang of rogues, or a subtle cabal of socialites?
Whatever your choice may be, your Cult is your own, and your will is absolute.
